Jerrold Malamut
Jerrold Malamut is President and CEO of National Real Estate Brokerage, Inc. Prior to his entry into commercial real estate, Mr. Malamut, owned and operated a chain of thirty retail optical establishments in the DC area and nationally. He also owned and operated manufacturing, import and wholesale optical companies. These experiences made him uniquely qualified, among virtually all brokers serving The Washington, DC Metropolitan Area, to assist retailers and others with their real estate needs.
Mr. Malamut began his real estate career in 1979, immediately after the sale of his businesses.
Between 1980 and 1982, he worked at Berens Asset Management as a real estate leasing and sales agent, specializing in the leasing and sale of retail properties. He spent much of 1982-1985 with Danac Real Estate Development Corporation. With Danac, he handled the leasing and sale of numerous shopping centers, office buildings and industrial/flex buildings throughout the Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia.
In 1985, Mr. Malamut became the Director of Retail Leasing for Shannon & Luchs Commercial Real Estate and established a new division of Shannon & Luchs, dedicated to the leasing and sale of retail properties and the representation of national, regional and local retail tenants in their market analysis and site selection process.
In 1989, he founded National Real Estate Brokerage, Inc., with the mission of providing the highest-quality representation for national, local and regional property owners and tenants in the acquisition and leasing of shopping centers, office buildings, industrial/flex properties and commercial ground.
In 1996, Mr. Malamut founded SiteSource Retail Network, a national associations of similar companies engaged in providing national and regional businesses with site selection services throughout the country.
He has clearly established himself as one of the top retail brokers in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. Over the past 25 years, he has brokered, developed or consulted on over One Billion Dollars worth of transactions.
Mr. Malamut presently holds Broker’s Licenses in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
