TODD MALAMUT

I am a 1993 graduate of the American University in Washington, DC. My major was Business, with an emphasis on Real Estate and Urban Development. After College, I spent 1½ years as a commercial appraiser in an effort to learn how to value real estate. In 1994, I joined one of the premier retail, tenant representation firms in the DC area, National Real Estate Brokerage. In 2011, National Real Estate Brokerage became NREB, LLC, of which I am a principal and its broker in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

My focus has been on retail brokerage. Within retail, I have done a significant amount of landlord representation work and have brokered the sale of numerous properties. However, my concentration in retail brokerage has been primarily in tenant representation. In the past, I have represented the following tenants in their site analysis and acquisition: DSW Shoe Warehouse;

The Sports Authority; CVS/Pharmacy; Exxon; Chevron; Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin-Robbins; Circuit City; Next Day Blinds; BJ’s Wholesale Club; Mattress Warehouse; Rite Aid; Blinds To Go; Qdoba; and Eileen Fisher. My current clients include: America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses; Jerry’s Subs & Pizza; Copper Canyon Grill; SEE Optical; Hamilton’s Leather and Sofa Gallery; Kilwin’s Chocolates; Sun & Ski; Specs New York; Brothers Sew & Vac; Strosnider’s Hardware; and Party Depot.

I also do focused landlord representation, most significant of which is in Georgetown, Washington, DC. I have concluded deals with the following tenants: Adidas; John Fluevog Boots; GNC; ALDO; Sunglass Hut; and SEE Optical.

Also, I was the President of the Site Source Retail Broker Network (www.sitesource.com) from 2009 to 2014. It was a wonderful experience working with and learning from some of the best brokers from all around the Country.

On a personal note, I am a competitive amateur golfer and multiple club champion at Lakewood Country Club in Rockville, MD and a drummer in a band called the Mules (I needed something to do in the winter).
